Red wooden beads for the small noses (3 for the small and 5 for the large - I have used beads with a 8 mm (3/8”) diameter).

3.5 mm (US E/4, UK/Canada 9)- or the sizes required to obtain the gauge below.
Gauge
24 sts x 23-24 rows = 10 x 10 cm (2.5” x 2.5”) in the designated pattern (bl sc worked in the round - you may experience that the gauge differs between the monochrome and the pattern rows - don’t worry too much about this as long as the final result doesn’t have holes and you like the look of it).
Construction
The christmas stocking is worked from the toe up. First work the toe, leg, and edge, and finally work the heel.
